Current Situation of Lab Planning and Construction Code

At the beginning of the establishment of various laboratories in our country, the managers of laboratories lacked advanced planning concepts. At the beginning, the planning of laboratories was only to satisfy the needs of some simple practices, focusing on the construction of water, electricity, air and furniture in laboratories. Since 2010, many laboratories have begun to integrate into the intelligent system in order to satisfy the needs of advanced experiments. For example, the automatic exhaust and supplement air control system of laboratory equipment, VAV ventilation cabinet variable air volume control system of laboratory, and so on, these intellectualized plans have greatly improved the ventilation effect of laboratory, together with reducing the energy consumption of laboratory, completing the energy saving and environmental protection of laboratory. But now, in the process of planning and building laboratories in our country, because the industry knows that the idea of building laboratories is different, so long as a few of them choose intelligent control system, they can not satisfy the demand of intelligent control of laboratories.

Problems in Lab Planning and Construction System

(1) Different ideas of laboratory planning

Nowadays, in the planning and construction of laboratories in developed countries, more and more attention is paid to the environmental protection, energy saving, safety, comfort and sustainable development of laboratories. In our country, because the planning and construction of modern laboratories started late, most laboratory managers did not realize the importance of energy saving, environmental protection and sustainable development of laboratories. It is undeniable that the comfort, environmental protection, energy saving and safety of the laboratory are not only directly related to the work of laboratory personnel, but also have a great impact on the natural environment. For example, the laboratory will produce certain test waste liquor during the test process or after the test is completed. If it is discharged into the natural environment without treatment, it will cause enormous damage to the natural environment and even affect people's vital health. From this we can see that it is better to strengthen the establishment of the norms of the laboratory planning and construction system to promote the stable and sustainable development of the laboratory.

(2) Lack of specifications for the planning and construction of laboratories

Compared with foreign countries, the standards, skills and materials chosen by the industry are uneven, and the level of planning and construction is far from satisfactory. The skill level of many laboratory planners and builders is difficult to meet the needs of modern test planning and construction. For example, in the planning and construction of laboratory ventilation cabinet, the ventilation cabinet is the basic equipment to ensure the normal operation of laboratory equipment and the safety of personnel, but in the process of practical planning and construction, some planners and builders pay too much attention to the operation status of equipment and neglect the safety planning of laboratory personnel. Moreover, the importance of energy-saving and environmental protection of laboratory ventilators has not been realized.

Establishment of Standard System for Lab Planning and Construction

(1) Following the concept of laboratory planning

In the process of planning and construction, a consistent planning concept should be established. First of all, we should attach great importance to the safety of laboratory planning, such as ensuring the four basic norms of laboratory planning: (1) ensuring the safe storage of dangerous information; (2) strictly protecting the safety of intellectual property rights; (3) planning the access control system of rooms and control; (4) important rooms in laboratories are not allowed to enter without permission, and anyone in public areas can enter. Secondly, attention should be paid to the plan that laboratories can continue to carry out. For example: planning waste gas and wastewater treatment system, reducing the discharge of hazardous waste; establishing a laboratory waste liquid recovery and use system; planning intelligent control system, improving the use of water resources and power in the laboratory, completing the effect of energy saving and environmental protection in the laboratory; supporting products in the laboratory should select recoverable information. Finally, improve the comfort of laboratory planning. In order to meet the need of continuing the modernization of laboratories, we should improve the comfort of laboratory construction, create a comfortable public environment for laboratory staff, and ensure the stable, healthy and sustainable development of laboratories.

(2) Strengthening the Establishment of Lab Planning and Construction Standards

At present, there are more than 2000 laboratory standards, 15 laboratory management standards and 23 laboratory safety standards. There are more than 10 planning standards for different departments, including aquatic animal quarantine laboratory, biosafety laboratory, measurement laboratory, mechanical industry center laboratory, science laboratory and so on. From this, it can be seen that the standard of laboratory planning and construction is more stringent and extensive. In the process of laboratory planning and construction, it has an important effect to establish a consistent standard system. For example, in the laboratory | DNA sequencing process, from sample sampling to the test in the sequencing room, strict compliance with the rules of each process of the test, to ensure the purity of the sample and data integrity. In addition, in the planning process of laboratory space, it is necessary to ensure the comfortable space of laboratory staff. In the lighting planning of laboratory, natural light should be used as far as possible, and HVAC system should be planned reasonably, so as to satisfy the needs of laboratory staff.
